My exploration of how to paint and capture the entirety of the Ocean onto a small canvas space became a celebration of the Ocean’s joy across a series of crochet hooks and now knitting needles.

I love the versatility of the Tunisian crochet hooks that I had to make a set. As a knitter and crocheter myself how great is it to switch between the craft, use one hook. switch and use the needles, make all kinds of things knit and crochet! Hand carved from the white duranta flower bush, these are hand painted pink with a pokey cactus flair floating amidst white dots for accent. Sealed for a smooth finish and longevity.

These hand carved knitting needles were made from the Australian Pine tree. Their ends have some of the original bark elements and the shafts have been sanded smooth. Sealed for a active use with a matte finish in a nod to nature's beauty.

Handcarved from our crepe myrtle tree trimming, I painted these black and then let the chalky whimsical fleurs, leaves, and dotted hearts take over. There may be a butterfly or two in there, too!
